Blogmas Day 10: 2024 Best in Beauty, Makeup
I love a favorites list, youtube video, TikTok - you name it, I’m consuming it. 2024 was jam-packed with makeup content and launches, and I want to share which products I think were the best of the best.
Starting with primer, where I have only one winner - Benefit’s POREfessional is a classic for a reason, and that’s because it truly works. When I use this, I find that my pores appear smaller, and cream products blend more easily. Win win.
After primer, we’ve got foundation, and I had two clear favorites that I reached for time and time again this year: Fenty Beauty’s Eaze Drop Blur + Smooth Foundation Stick and for the second year in a row, Merit’s The Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Foundation and Concealer Stick. I have combination skin that leans on the dryer side in the colder months. I prefer Merit in the summer and Fenty in the winter. Both offer medium to full coverage, and I maintain that stick products are just so easy to use.

I’m a concealer after foundation girly, and I had three favorite concealers this year! For the second year in a row, my fav blemish concealer is the Kulfi Main Match Crease-Proof Long-Wear Hydrating Concealer. Just as full coverage as Shape Tape, but wears much better on dryer skin. My budget blemish concealer is the NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop 24HR Full Coverage Matte Concealer. A little goes a long way with this one, and at under $10, it cannot be beat. Lastly, I already raved about this in my November Favorites, but the Tarte Creaseless Creamy Concealer is truly *chef’s kiss* for under eye concealing!

Next up, blush! I love blush, and I’ve worn a ton of different colors and formulas this year, but I have two favorites in this category. My #1 was the Ciele blush & PROTECT SPF 50+ liquid blush. It blends like a dream and has SPF, say less! (I’m super interested to try their foundation, too!) For the cooler months, I’ve been reaching for the Bare Minerals GEN NUDE BLONZER Blush + Bronzer in a rusty copper color. The shade range is so pretty, and the formula is a really cool bouncy powder.

So, when it comes to bronzer, I have one long running favorite, and I don’t think I’ll ever switch it up. The Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer is unmatched. I love that this comes in light and has six different shades. She smells good, she is good! And she’s at the drugstore! Also, I got the Bronzer + Blush version as well, and it makes an awesome little eyeshadow palette… and that’s all I’ve got on eyeshadow, because otherwise, I’m not interested, haha.
For brows, I kept turning to the same product this year, and that’s Rare Beauty’s Brow Harmony Flexible Lifting Gel. It keeps my brows in place all day, but somehow they still feel like brows?! I still love Benefit’s 24 Hour Brow Setter (crunchy but frozen brows) and e.l.f.’s Wow Brow (Boy Brow DUPE), but Selena really knew what she was doing with this one!
I have two favorite mascaras, and they’re both doing the same thing at different price points. High end, Glossier’s Lash Slick at $20. Drugstore, e.l.f.’s Lash N’ Roll Mascara at $6. Neither are marketed as tubing mascaras, but I’m here to tell you, they most definitely are. If you like a lengthened, super separated lash look, the are the ones for you!

And finally, lip products. You’re probably sick of hearing me say this, but Glossier’s Balm Dotcom is literally the bomb (dotcom). Into clear? They have clear. Into tints? They’ve got those too. It’s such an incredibly versatile product that actually treats my lips better than Aquaphor. I love so many of them, but my top two are Birthday and Cookie Butter.
And that’s a wrap on my favorites in makeup for 2024. What did you love? I’m clearly easily influenced.
