What’s an already got it wishlist, you ask? It’s a list of things that would be on my Christmas wishlist if I didn’t already own (and love) them. Said in a different way, this is a list of my favorite things, and there’s no better recommendation than one based on firsthand experience!
Cordless Vacuum - My absolute favorite newish gadget is my cordless vacuum. I’m one of those weirdos who loves vacuuming, because, you know, instant results. Unfortunately, my corded vacuum weighs about a million pounds and is not easy to lug up and down the stairs. My cordless vacuum solves that problem! It’s light as a feather and has majorly stepped up my sweeping game. Mine is a Shark, but my dad also has Tineco that is great!
Pros: Solid battery life, lightweight, easy to clean, comes with multiple useful attachments for upholstery and hard to reach spaces
Cons: Does not stand up on its own
Personal most common use: All the vacuuming all the time
Conclusion: This thing is fantastic“Work Backpack” - When I started going back into the office a few days a week, I quickly realized how frustrating a work tote is. There’s nothing that sets me off quite like trying to tie a shoe while a ten pound tote slides off my shoulder. After just a few months of lugging my laptop to and from the office, I decided I needed a backpack, but not like a kids backpack, something classy, sleek. Lol for real, but I stumbled upon this nifty backpack from Target, and I’m now a work backpack girlie for life.
Pros: It’s a backpack, so it doesn’t slide off my shoulders! It has a laptop sleeve, inner zip pocket, outer zip pocket, and even a water bottle compartment
Cons: The handles at the top can sometimes get in the way while trying to put on the backpack
Personal most common use: My everyday work bag
Conclusion: Backpacks are so fetchKindle - Listen, I love a regular book more than the next person, probably. I love the satisfaction of turning through pages, I love displaying them colorfully around my house, I love them! But, I’m factually very short on display space, and at this point I’ve amassed so many books that actually mean something to me, that I can’t just be keeping every dime a dozen summer romcom book I read (that’s not a slight, I love them, just can’t keep ‘em all). I sprung for a Kindle during the first few months of quarantine, and in the last year, it’s had a ton of use. If you’re not sentimental about books, get a Kindle and never turn back!
Pros: Travel friendly, can purchase books at any time for immediate reading, excellent battery life, even the most basic version is backlit
Cons: Not a book
Personal most common use: Reading, derp
Conclusion: She’s not a book, but she is convenientAerie Sherpa - Aerie releases these yearly, and I buy one yearly because I wear one every single work-from-home day from October to April. What can I say? Fashion is life.
Pros: Warm, comfortable
Cons: Elbows can get a bit matted after multiple washes
Personal most common use: Body temperature regulation while living with a man who underheats the house all winter
Conclusion: You need one, and it should be in a fun colorInstant Pot - This, like a few other things on this list, is an investment, but a worthwhile one. I’m always shocked to find that my mom doesn’t have or want an Instant Pot because, frankly, it’s magical. Not only do we use ours to quickly cook chicken for meal prep, we use it for chili, soups, and even pasta. We use it for so many meals and we’re not even touching what this thing is capable of!
Pros: Quickly cooks food in a tenth of the time a crockpot would take, cleans easily, endless cooking capabilities (including desserts)
Cons: Takes up a good chunk of cabinet space
Personal most common use: Soup/stew like meals
Conclusion: Our slow roast chili days are over, Instant Pot is a game changer
