Blogmas Day 16: Holiday Romance Book Review
I’m back on my holiday themed book grind, and my second festive read of the season was Holiday Romance by Catherine Walsh.
I flew through this cutie little romcom about friends Molly and Andrew, and their epically chaotic journey from Chicago to their homes in Ireland for Christmas.
Both Irish transplants living in Chicago, Molly is a burnt out attorney, considering ditching her high profile career for something totally new in her 30s. Andrew is Molly’s college rommate’s ex-boyfriend. Every year for the past decade (the first by coincidence, and the rest by choice), Molly and Andrew have taken the last flight from Chicago to Ireland to make it home to their families for the holidays. This year is no different, except for the raging snowstorm that grounds their flight and threatens to ruin Christmas… Well, Andrew’s Christmas anyway. Molly’s not too keen on the holidays.
The two of them jump through a series of increasingly chaotic (but somehow still realistic) hoops to ultimately make it home in time for Christmas, or in Molly’s case, in time for her twin sister to immediately go into labor. Who better to comfort her than her handsome flight buddy of ten years? But, it’s always been platonic, right?… Right?
This book was cutesy and cozy, with just a handful of unnecessary plot points. I loved it so much, I’m reading the sequel, Snowed In.
Bottom line: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
