I hate to say this, but I kind of treat November like a throwaway month! It’s just the four weeks separating the two big shows - Halloween and Christmas, and I’m always kind of just floating through a never-ending list of to-dos, waiting for Santa.
This past November though, my heart and mouth (okay, gross, but I’ll elaborate) were open to fully experiencing the final chapter of autumn before I hole up for the winter. That said, these are a few of my favorite things!
I got my wisdom teeth removed! You probably have a few questions, and I’m here to answer them. Leigh Ann, why was getting your wisdom teeth removed worthy of a spot on your favorites list? Well, because I’ve been putting it off for a very long time, and with a deeply rooted fear of the dentist, my procrastination was looming heavy over me, so I’m glad to have it over with! Leigh Ann, aren’t you like, way too old to have just had your wisdom teeth removed? To that, I’d say, yeah… probably, BUT age is just a number. How rude of you to even ask me that! Jk, if you know me, I’m sure you remember that horrendous tonsillectomy experience, and so, that’s why I’ve dilly dallied for ten or so years. Anyway, buhbye teeth!
We Christmas shopped for a couple of special people! My workplace partners with a service to provide gifts for local children in need, and it’s such a warm tradition to take part in yearly. A tree is decorated in our lobby with tags for children of all ages, detailing some things they need and want for Christmas. Kyle and I made a rainy evening of our shopping, stopping for dinner before perusing tiny adorable clothes and lego sets.
One of my besties was in town for a week and together with Kyle, we tried to learn how to play Euchre for a Euchre tournament that was, as it turns out, not really one of my favorite things, haha. Euchre is unnecessarily difficult, like, why aren’t we just playing Uno? Anyway, before intensive Euchre training began, we watched Mean Girls and Bring it On, ate good food, and just had a fun week with one of our favorite people!
We watched Puppy Love on Freevee. One evening, Kyle and I were browsing the the streaming movie options when we stumbled upon a romcom starring Lucy Hale and Grant Gustin. This guy, who has known me for over a decade, says, “Oh, I’ve been wanting to watch this, but I wasn’t sure if you’d be interested.” Hi, have we met? I’m interested in every ounce of this. I won’t give anything away, but in the realm of made for streaming romcoms, it is top tier. Highly recommend.
Last, but most certainly not least, I enjoyed Thanksgiving. Kyle is a master turkey day chef (though, we have a roast), so not only is there excellent food to be enjoyed for too many days, there is much to be thankful for.
What were some of your November highlights?
