New twist on this post. I’ve so enjoyed all the input from my friends and family in this year’s Blogmas, that I wanted to share everyone’s lessons learned this year. Some are funny, others heartwarming, and a few are pretty blunt. I love them all. And so, here are 24 learnings from 2024 ◡̈
Our days are so very numbered. Not morbidly, just factually. And because they’re numbered, they truly are gifts. Make the phone call, go in for the hug, say the thing you’re embarrassed or scared to say.
Live life like you’re on vacation - appreciate the little things, log off, be present and intentional.
And on the topic of vacation, that thing you want to purchase on vacation, do it! You can make your money back, but you might never find yourself in the same place again.
Be patient, especially with your family.
Listen to your body and rest when you need to. No FOMO, just rest by choice before your body forces you to.
When opportunities present themselves, seize them! (This one warmed my heart particularly because it was in relation to visits I got to have with a long distance friend this year 🥹)
No one can make you feel happy or sad except for you. We are ultimately in power of how we feel.
I’ve never once wanted to be friends with someone who doesn’t like me.
Always trust your gut!
Start. The. Group. Chat. Who knows, maybe 18 months later you’ll have gained a group of new besties to share your highs and lows with. ♡
You don’t have to look good as long as you smell good. 😂
The worst can happen, and you will still adapt.
Taking care of yourself is not just physical, it’s mental, too.
If you travel a lot, get TSA PreCheck.
You are not your job. There were years of you before it, and there will be years of you after. Think of yourself as all that you put out into the world when you’re not working.
Grief is a trip. A chaotic, strange, unprecedented trip. You’ve got to give yourself so much grace as you navigate it.
Therapy truly helps so much! If you’re on the fence, do it!
Coffee grounds don’t go down the garbage disposal. 😂
Don’t procrastinate the thing that starts your day right - if that’s bible study, exercise, meditation, a healthy meal, do it first.
Love thoroughly every single day. Whether it be your family, friends, or pets. You never know when they won’t be here anymore.
From one of my very favorite tiny humans - always be good and nice. Believe in God. Listen to your parents. 💕
Roll with life’s punches.
While saying yes can get you outside of your comfort zone and lead to personal growth, saying no is just as important!
Don’t eat the yellow snow! 😂
