I maintain that the most fun gifts to open on Christmas morning are stockings! I’ve been lucky to have a lifetime of excellent stocking curators in my parents, in-laws, and husband, and I’m just trying to take a page out of their book and give it to you. If you’ve been here before, there’s probably some repeats or even threepeats, but hey, good is good!
The Flint Retractable Lint Roller is something everyone needs. And yeah, you read that right, retractable. That’s the game changing component of this tiny, packable lint roller. It’s obviously great for travel, but also fantastic for work, car, and home. The most epic downfall of the traditional lint roller is that it’s always just exposed adhesive, sticking to pennies, paperclips, and food crumbs in your junk drawer. All of those problems are solved with Flint! It’s also refillable, which is awesome.
This next one is definitely giving unnecessary influencer purchase, but I’m only sharing because Kyle and I each have one and they’re used often. It’s a Headphone Cleaning Pen. Please don’t even bother pretending that your headphones aren’t crusty and dusty. Extend their lives with this nifty little cleaning gadget!
If you have perfect skin, skip to #4, but if you’re normal (lol), pimple patches make excellent stocking stuffers. There are a million different brands, spanning a range of affordability, but they pretty much all do the same thing. My favorites are Rael Miracle Patches and Hero Cosmetics Mighty Patches, both of which can be purchased at Target in person, or online if you want to skip the store! And, peruse both brands for other patches that target dark spots and stubborn acne, too.
I love candy in my stocking, but I’m also trying to reduce my sugar intake, so I’m digging healthy snacks that also double as treats! Did you know that you’re supposed to eat 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight per day? No? Neither did I. I am now OBSESSED with Aloha Protein Bars (specifically the chocolate chip cookie dough and holiday flavors), which are a tasty and vegan way to increase protein intake. You can buy in bulk online or grab singles/boxes at Whole Foods, Fresh Thyme, and Meijer.
Hear me out, a Netflix gift card. Ever since Netflix cracked down on shared accounts, I’ve been hearing a lot of, “I’m going to subscribe for a month so I can watch x, then cancel again,” or, “Sorry, I can’t talk to you about Love is Blind, because I was using my parent’s account.” Grab someone you love a $20 Netflix gift card so they can watch the last season of Stranger Things on your dime, in 2048, when it’s finally released…
All. The. Minis. Minis are so underrated, and they’re great for so many things! Travel? Minis, obvi. Gym bag? You need minis! Want to try that new swanky shampoo, but worried you’ll hate it? Grab the mini! Ranging from drug store body care to high end mascara, there’s a mini for everything and everyone. Sephora even has a whole minis section on their app!
Hand creams! Winter is coming, my friends. Actually, scratch that, winter is here. When it comes to hand creams, just about anything will do, but my absolute favorites are the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream (which is actually for universal use, but I love the holiday scents for hands!), and all of The Body Shop hand creams, but my favorite is the Hemp line.
Pacifica Reusable Eye Masks. If you’re reading this and around my age (like, mid-thirties), I think you can agree that our eyes are looking a little haggard. Probably has something to do with living through a global pandemic, housing crisis, and recession, to name a few. Lots of sleepless nights for us millennials, eh? Anyway, I think these make a great gift for anyone! Use with a moisturizer or serum and viola! You look younger! Maybe.
Stockings should always have lip balm, and I stand by that. My husband claims there is such thing as too much lip balm, but I disagree. They’re shelf stable, right? I actually have no idea, but for real, just always have chapstick. Anyway, go for what you know, but my absolute favorite is the Palmer’s Swivel Stick, and close runner ups are Chapstick Peppermint flavor and original formula Glossier Balm Dot Com, which is currently available in two holiday flavors right now!
Finally, fill your stocking with love! Jk, all of this to say that a stocking is just as well executed if it’s full of candy! I have a major sweet tooth, and I find that 5 Below is the best one stop shop for affordable, and often hard to find sweets, like Zots, iykyk!
What’s your favorite stocking treat?
