Blogmas Day 4: Best and Worst of Holiday Streaming
I’ve finally streamed enough new holiday movies to give you the 411 on what’s worth the watch vs. what stole two hours that I’ll never get back.
The Best
Love at First Sight on Netflix - This year, I’m going to try to give nothing away. I would say, if you’re a fan of Love Actually and The Family Stone, you will fall head over heels for this movie. It’s not in-your-face-Christmas-shenanigans, just a lovely, heartwarming story that takes place at Christmastime. Craving a little romance? Start here. Also, I just have to say, I love Haley Lu so much.
Bottom line: 5 out of 5 mistletoe kisses, too good!
Candy Cane Lane on Prime Video - Lovers of Elf and The Santa Clause will adore this all Christmas, all the time, family friendly movie! Eddie Murphy is fantastic, and I’m sure this will become a classic for many, including myself!
Bottom line: 5 out of 5 golden rings
Family Switch on Netflix - This not-so-obviously-Christmas take on Freaky Friday boasts an all-star cast and a ton of warm and fuzzy feelings. I’ll watch anything with Jennifer Garner or Ed Helms, but the combo, fantastic.
Bottom line: 5 out of 5 snowy Christmas mornings
The Shepherd on Disney Plus - If you’re short on time, make this the one streaming gem you watch this holiday season. Mystery meets warmth meets romance in this 40 minute Christmas film.
Bottom line: 5 out of 5 home-for-Christmases
The Good
EXmas on Prime Video - Probably the most corny on this list so far, EXmas is only slightly more believable than a Hallmark movie, but cute nonetheless. Blair Waldorf has the midas touch!
Bottom line: 4 out of 5 complete Nativity sets (you’ll see what I mean, lol)
The Pretty Terrible
Best. Christmas. Ever. on Netflix - I so wanted to love this one. It’s got an all star cast, which was all the potential it ever needed, but the plot failed them. Am I glad I watched it? Sure. Will it become part of the yearly rotation? Absolutely not. It is however, family friendly, so it’s at least got that!
Bottom line: 2 out of 5 Christmas blizzards
There’s some potential for a part 2 here, as I follow new releases on all streaming services. Have I missed anything yet?
Currently listening to: “A Timeless Christmas” by Coco Jones
