It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And if you’re not careful, you’ll wake up January 2nd wondering where all the magic went. The holidays are so fast paced - a dinner here, a gift exchange there, a trip to the store for tape, 7.2 road trips, you get the point. I’m not saying you need a Christmas itinerary necessarily, but I am saying, it doesn’t hurt.
With all that said, I give you, my holiday bucket list. I hope you’ll make one too!
I want to do some Christmassy exploration of downtown Columbus! This was on my bucket list last year, and we didn’t get around to it. We don’t spend a lot of time downtown, so it’s all new and exciting to me, but if you’re looking for a way to see your city with fresh eyes, I highly recommend seeing it under a blanket of twinkling lights. Kyle, you owe me downtown Christmas date night, no buts about it!
I would love to expand our Christmas decor by one mini tree. I hate even typing that for people to read because, to each their own, but all these influencers changing their Christmas decor yearly is baffling to me?! Isn’t Christmas about tradition? Aren’t we all hanging some moldy cheerio ornament we made when we were 6 on the tree? Isn’t everyone’s nativity scene a little bit worse for wear? Anyway, this extra tree is not an excuse for any additional ornaments, it’s just a little Christmas magic in our living room since we put our big tree upstairs.
Watch all the classics, and watch ‘em early! I swear, the past few years, it strikes 8pm on Christmas day, and I’m googling how to watch Home Alone 2 and Love Actually simultaneously, on the same tv, at 1.25 speed. From now until December 26th, it’s Christmas movies only in this house!
Road trip to almost heaven, West Virginia to see my sweet parents! If Chuck (our cat) were a car ride kinda girl, we’d pack her up and spend the whole holiday in WV, but alas, she’s a homebody. Must get it from her human. Anyway, I’m excited to head home for a few days and spend some time with my favorite people!
Finish not one, not two, but three pieces of art I have in the works for some people I love! Hope to share more about those later :)
Bake a new vegan treat to enjoy for the holidays! I get so jealous of all the treats that my dairy intolerant stomach can’t handle. We had a potluck at work for Thanksgiving and one of my coworkers brought in bourbon infused cheesecake, are you kidding me? I will have treats, and they will be delicious!
Lucky number seven, take some time to reflect on the reason for the season.
