Blogmas Day 9: The Christmas Tag
This year’s Christmas tag questions come from the blog of Samantha .J. If you’re reading this, consider yourself it!!
What is your favorite Christmas movie? This is an interesting question because my favorite year-round movie is Christmas Vacation, but my favorite Christmas movie is definitely The Santa Clause.
Have you ever had a white Christmas? I’m blessed to share that yes, I’ve had many snowy Christmases, both in West Virginia and Ohio. A few years ago on Christmas Eve while my dad was in town, we got a ton of snow and bundled up to walk through our neighborhood and take in all the Christmas lights!
Where do you usually spend your holiday? I’m not sure how many years constitutes a tradition, but for the last 4 or 5 years, we’ve spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day at home in Columbus. We always make a holiday trip to West Virginia, and even spent the week before Christmas in Florida with my in-laws one year, too!
What is your favorite Christmas song? I’m a huge Christmas music fan, so this is a tough one, but I love, "Ho Ho Hopefully” by the Maine!
Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve? My husband and I don’t have any Christmas Eve present traditions, but growing up, I always got a new pair of pjs on Christmas Eve ◡̈.
Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer? Well, yeah! I know Dasher, and Dancer, and Prancer, and Vixen… Comet, and Cupid, and Donner and Blitzen. And I most definitely know Rudolph!
Which holiday traditions are you most looking forward to this year? I’m looking forward to a hefty Chinese food takeout order on Christmas Eve and working on an infuriating puzzle while watching all the best Christmas movies.
Is your Christmas tree real or fake? Ours is fake. I love a real tree, but fake is so much more practical. Especially with pets. And honestly, I think if we had to string lights on a tree, we’d never put one up, haha.
What is your all time favorite holiday sweet treat? I’m a big fan of anything chocolate/candy cane combo. Those chocolate cookies with white chocolate chips and candy cane bits… yes please!
Be honest, do you like giving or receiving gifts more? I like both, baby! The older I get, the more I enjoy giving - there’s something so magical about hunting for and wrapping up a gift for someone special.
What’s the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received? My little Chuck girl ◡̈.
What would be your dream place to visit during the holiday season? I’ll be honest, I’m not big on travel, but I have a good friend in Germany right now, and the Christmas markets sound so dreamy.
Are you a pro present wrapper or do you fail miserably? I actually consider myself a prodigy. It’s one of my few claims to fame. Also, I love it so much! Wish I could get a 1993 part-time job wrapping gifts at Sears.
What made you realize the truth about Santa? Fam, I still very much believe in the magic of Christmas, and you should too!
Most memorable holiday moment? That would also have to be getting my little Chuck girl. She let me hold her while everyone opened gifts, and then she laid on my lap while Kyle and I watched Peter Pan on Christmas night. What a cute baby!
Currently listening to: “Sleigh Ride” by fun.
