BlogOWeen Day 9: Fall Beauty Favorites
I don’t know about you, but when the weather changes, my skin changes along with it. Autumn is awesome already, but new beauty products are a definite bonus. The deets on my skin: always acne prone, dry in the colder months, combination in the warmer months.
First things first, a hypochlorous acid spray. I really like the Tower 28 SOS Spray ($$, I’m sorry but it is my favorite). I recently purchased Prequel’s dupe from Target, which is a little cheaper, but it stinks, like actually smells so funky. That said, they do the same thing, which is tone and kill bacteria. I definitely notice more breakouts when I’m not using a hypochlorous acid spray after cleansing for am and pm.

Maybe most important as the seasons change is finding the proper moisturizer. I am in love with Naturium’s Multi-Peptide Moisturizer. It’s just as luxurious as other much more expensive moisturizers, and I find that it’s thick enough for nighttime use, but also plays well under makeup. We love a versatile moisturizer. The packaging is nice too!
Dry, cold weather takes a huge toll on skin in general, but for me, my feet are the most affected. Sorry to share that I have the driest feet this side of Halloweentown. I have found one very magical product though, and it’s Olive & June’s Heel Balm. I slather this on all the driest parts of my feet and throw on socks once or twice a week in the winter months, and at the end of the work day, I have feet as soft as a baby’s.
When it comes to autumnal makeup, I’m super into a rust colored blush, so I’ve been using an oldie but goodie, Bare Minerals Blonzer in the shade Kiss of Rose, and it is so good! It’s not marketed this way, but it wears like a powder/cream hybrid, and is a really lovely formula.
Lastly, brown mascara is all the rage. I think it screams fall. When it comes to a true brown (not black-brown) that doesn’t break the bank, the L’Oréal Lash Paradise in Latte Brown is where it’s at. I’ve historically hated the Lash Paradise formula, but this color has changed my mind. She’s a beauty, and the formula actually gets better as it dries out.
What are some of your colder weather beauty favorites?
